OUR MESSAGE TO OUR TEAM
Siyathembana Project Management and Development (PTY) Ltd believes in uplifting people and more especially our own team players. As a result, an internal upliftment program was developed to up-skill and develop our staff who in many cases have come from underprivileged backgrounds or were poorly educated in the past economic climate of South Africa. Our key objective is to give our staff self-esteem, confidence and most importantly skills to enter the workplace outside the Siyathembana Project Management and Development (PTY) Ltd organization should they choose.
These team players have developed skills which can be used to enable them to have a sustainable income wherever they choose, in the future.
Siyathembana Project Management and Development (PTY) Ltd has many success stories of individuals to share with the nation.
Qeda has been with the company since 2009 where he started as a bricklayer. He was upskilled to a plasterer and then taught how to read floor plans, a skill he learnt quickly, combining that with all the knowledge he had absorbed over the years. He became our stand out all rounder builder. In 2016 Qeda was given a team and a section of Busby House to refurbish and build using Advanced Building Technology (A.B.T) . The company was so impressed with his work ethic and running of his team that when the refurbishment of 42 Sivewright started he was promoted to head builder, an opportunity that he took with open arms. The construction went flawlessly and he has since proven himself many times over as he continues to run the maintenance and construction of all the buildings in Johannesburg CBD as well as other projects that the company runs. Qeda continues to lead from the front and has the full respect of management and his builders as he continues to lead from the front.
Johnson – brief paragraph of his journey
Champion is a former boxer who joined the Siyathembana team in 2015 as a security guard when the refurbishment of Busby House started. He rose through the ranks and when we started the development of 42 Sivewright Champion was given the task of ensuring the builders never slacked and made there daily building requirments and tasks. Aubrey saw Champion’s potential and promoted him to an office administration role at 42 Sivewright once the development was complete, a position which he excelled in. Champions sharp brain and understanding of the environment proved him to be an asset and he has since been moved to JAS House where he manages and runs the office with a team working under him. He continues to show exceptional skill in making sure operations run smoothly.
Simba started as a security guard with Siyathembana in 2017 where he exemplified dedication and a clear understanding of what was expected of him. Management saw this young mans bright potential and upskilled his training in office administration. He has been a fine addition to the Sivewright team where he works closely with Sydney in the administration and running of the building.
Eric is a professional boxer by trade and joined our security team in 2016 where his talent as a boxer was immediately spotted. He is the “ABU” African Boxing Union African champion in the welterweight division as well as Congolese Champ. He now heads up Siyathembana’s security for JAS House, 42 Sivewright and Busby House. Eric has grown into his position and takes charge of his security teams. He continues to bring his boxing focus and dedication to his job.
Along with his security duties , Eric helps maintain and facilitate the running of our boxing gym in Busby House which continues to grow and impress.
Leonard has exceptional skills as a class one fitter machinist and a class one welder. He graduated at Mutare Polytechnic in Zimbabwe in May 2002. He has been with the company since 2015 and has handled some extremely difficult projects, one such example was removing a 4 level inter-floor conveyor belts system and reconstituting the holes to create solid concrete flooring with ease and efficiency.
Sydney journey started in 2009 with no immediate skills but with a willingness to work and learn he worked from the ground up to improve himself. His first job was a gardener taking care of the grounds as well as keeping the developments clean and later on he helped show the properties to potential buyers. In 2013/14 Sydney was upskilled and joined the tiling department as a labourer while working on our JAS House project and by end he had learnt the skills to become a proficient tiler . Sydney was one of two tilers who worked tirelessly throughout the whole refurbishment of Busby House as well as Sivewright where they tiled every flat. Sydney was recognised and because of his dedication he earned a promotion and went to work with the Busby Management Team in 2017 as an administrator. In 2020 he was moved to Sivewright where he has been managing the offices.
